Pulse HR App
An app used by HR departments to monitor weekly checkins from employees.
The product, ‘Pulse’, will be an app that employees install on their phone, or access via url on their mobile devices. Complimenting to this app, there will be a desktop based online dashboard, which will be accessed by organisations’ HR departments.
The app will facilitate employees in performing a weekly pulse check by way of a guided set of questions to which the employees will record video responses. While the questions will have a recommended length for a response, response length is completely discretionary by the employee. The dashboard will allow HR consultants to be able to view these submissions, and flag any notes for senior management to action, should there be any points of concern or any other notable issues raised by the employees in submissio.
I was tasked with designing 6 key screens and a dashboard. I was given key user actions and had to build them into the apps structure and design.
What I Did
- UI/UX design
- User testing
The key challenge that i determined was whether or not users (employees) would take part in a routine checkin. I also needed to find a way to make sure the UI is seamless and the gap between the mental modals of the user and the Hr managers are close.
I created a reward system, on completion of each interview the the user will receive points. They can use the points to buy small items such as coffee.
The interface designed focuses on encouraging the user to complete tasks. It reminds the user if they have missed a checkin, or if a checkin is coming up. This created a feeling of “i don’t want to break my run of completing checkins”.
